This forest is home to many large erratic boulders, which have moved here from Finland due to the glacier action during the last ice age. Our largest boulder is named Siimu after the historical Siimo farmstead.
According to one legend, after the devastating Northern War (1721) and the plague epidemic, the entire village was empty, and a father moved here from Virumaa with his three sons. One son’s name was Siim, and the farm was named after him.
