Siimu stone

This forest is home to many large erratic boulders, moved here from Finland by glacial action during the last ice age. Our largest boulder is named Siimu after the historical Siimo farmstead.
According to a legend, after the devastating Northern War in 1721 and a plague epidemic, the village was deserted. A man named Siim then relocated here from Virumaa with his three sons, and the farmstead was named after him.
