Our mission is to promote responsible tourism through purposeful actions that respect nature and support the local community, while delivering world-class hospitality.
By adhering to the Green Key criteria and continuously improving our practices, we aim to inspire our guests and partners to make more conscious choices and take greater responsibility for shaping a better living environment—one that benefits both human well-being and natural biodiversity. Here are some of our everyday practices.
We have installed energy-efficient LED lighting throughout the property and in all buildings. Our heating system utilises efficient ground-source heating and air-source heat pumps. Additionally, we have installed solar panels to generate some of our energy on-site.
To manage electricity and heating systems, we use various applications that monitor solar energy production and track electricity market prices.
At Taju, waste is categorised into four main groups for recycling: mixed packaging (which includes beverage cartons, clean plastics, glass, and metals), deposit bottles and cans, and organic waste. The organic waste is composted on-site, and some plant-based waste is repurposed as additional feed for our cattle. Cardboard and paper waste are either reused in gardening or used as fire starters, while some paper waste is sent to public recycling points. Taju does not provide single-use plastic items to guests; only reusable tableware is used at picnics.
